Patan Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023:

This year, Chhattisgarh is experiencing a head-on contest between the reigning Congress and the primary contender BJP. The BJP is counting on the widespread popularity of PM Modi and the concept of a "double-engine government," a term frequently used by the saffron party during state Assembly election campaigns. In contrast, the Congress has brought the issue of corruption to the forefront in the buildup to the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023.

The BJP has fielded Durg MP Vijay Baghel to the state electoral arena, aiming for him to challenge his uncle, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, for the Patan seat. The constituency has a collective count of 1,95,205 registered voters, comprising 97,654 males and 97,537 females. During the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Patan witnessed a voter turnout of 82.93 per cent. In 2013, the turnout was 83.2 per cent, and in 2008, it stood at 78.97 per cent.
