Chikkodi-Sadalga Election Result 2023: The Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 approaches, all eyes are on the Chikkodi-Sadalga seat, one of the key battlegrounds in the state. This constituency, located in the Belagavi district, has been a traditional stronghold of the Congress which has won the seat in the past three elections. The Chikkodi-Sadalga seat has a diverse electorate, comprising farmers, traders, and workers from various communities. Key issues which will dominate the Chikkodi-Sadalga seat will be farmers' issues, rural development and healthcare.
As the campaign heats up, the Chikkodi-Sadalga seat is likely to witness a fierce battle among the three major parties. While the BJP has a slight edge due to its organizational strength and the popularity of its leaders, Congress and the JD(S) are not far behind. The final outcome will depend on a number of factors, including the performance of the candidates, the alliances formed, and the mood of the voters.
Chikkodi-Sadalga Election 2023:
The Congress has reposed its faith in Ganesh Hukkeri who has been winning the seat since 2014. Hukkeri is a young and dynamic leader who is known for his pro-farmer and pro-poor stance. The BJP, on the other hand, has fielded Ramesh Vishwanath Katti, who represented the Chikkodi Parliamentary constituency in Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is contesting the Karnataka Assembly Election for the first time, has fielded Srikant Patil from the Chikkodi-Sadalga seat. Meanwhile, the regional party JD(S) is yet to announce a candidate for the seat.
Chikkodi-Sadalga Election 2018:
In 2018, Ganesh Prakash Hukkeri of the Indian National Congress won the seat by defeating Annasaheb Shankar Jolle of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a margin of 10,569 votes. While Hukkeri had garnered 91,467 votes comprising 51.04 per cent of the total votes, BJP candidate Annasaheb Shankar Jolle grabbed 80,898 votes which comprise 45.14 per cent of the total votes.
