Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Gautam Buddha Nagar is set to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on April 26, marking the second phase of elections. The voting will commence at 7 am and continue until 6 pm. It is crucial for voters to carry their voter ID cards, issued by the Election Commission to cast their vote. However, what should one do if they do not have a voter ID card?
There are provisions for individuals without voter ID card. In such cases, voters can rely on election slips, which are usually distributed by political party volunteers outside the polling centers. By collecting these slips and carrying a valid identity card, voters can cast their votes at their designated polling booths. The Election Commission has specified several acceptable identification documents for Phase 2 of the Lok Sabha elections.
Apart from the voter ID card, the following documents are deemed valid for identification purposes, as approved by the Election Commission:
Aadhaar Card
MGNREGA Job Card
Passbooks with photographs issued by Bank/Post Office
Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the Ministry of Labour's scheme
Driving License
PAN Card
Smart Card issued by the Registrar General of India (RGI) under NPR
Indian Passport
Pension document with a photograph
Service Identity Cards with photographs issued by Central/State Government/PSUs/Public Limited Companies
Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs
Unique Disability ID (UDID) Card issued by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
The Election Commission stated that the Elector's Photo Identity Card (EPIC) is one of the primary documents for establishing the elector's identity during the voting process at the polling station.
