Karnataka Election Result 2023: Voting for the 224-member Karnataka Assembly elections took place on May 10, and the results will be declared on May 13. The state is the BJP's sole stronghold in southern India, and it is all set to take back the control. On May 10, voters will choose the 224-member Karnataka Assembly, and the results will be announced on May 13. Three political parties—the Congress, the Janata Dal (Secular), and the ruling BJP—will square off in the state.

Karkala is an assembly constituency in Karnataka. It falls under the Udupi Chikmagalur Lok sabha constituency.

Karkala Assembly Election 2023

This year, the BJP has fielded V. Sunil Kumar, who serves as the current Minister of Kannada and Culture and the Energy Department of Karnataka since 4 August 2021. While the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has fielded Daniel, Uday Shetty will be contesting from Congress.

There are a total of 1,79,029 voters in the constituency that include general voters, NRI voters and service voters. Amongst the general voters 85,676 are male, 93,331 female and 1 others. The electorate s*x ratio in the constituency is 108.91 and the approximate literacy rate is 87%.

Karkala Assembly Election 2018:

V. Sunil Kumar from the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the winner in the 2018 Karkala Assembly Elections. In the 2013 Karnataka Assembly Elections, the BJP won this seat by a margin of 4,254 votes (3.26 per cent), garnering 49.85 per cent of the total votes cast. Voter turnout for the seat in 2013 was 81.06 per cent.

With 50.69 per cent of the total votes cast, INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly Elections by a margin of 1,537 votes (1.38 per cent). Voter turnout for this seat in the 2018 election was 80.13 per cent.
