Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results: The final count for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections was concluded on June 4, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing a total of 240 seats. Although this number is less than anticipated, the BJP still maintained a decisive lead over the Opposition, with Congress garnering only 99 seats. PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has successfully retained his Varanasi constituency in Uttar Pradesh, defeating the Congress candidate by a margin of 1,52,513 votes. PM Modi, who represents the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency, bagged 6,12,970 votes while his rival, Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai, got 4,60,457. Ather Jamal Lari of the BSP secured the third position with 33,766 votes. This time, PM Modi's victory margin was significantly lower than his margins in the 2019 and 2014 elections. In the 2019 elections, Modi had a victory margin of 4,79,505, defeating SP's Shalini Yadav while Congress' Ajay Rai was the runner-up.

Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah won from his Gandhinagar constituency in Gujarat with a mammoth margin of over 7 lakh votes, surpassing his 2019 victory margin of 5.55 lakh votes. Shah defeated Congress candidate Sonal Ramanbhai Patel in the seat.

Shankar Lalwani

Shankar Lalwani, the incumbent MP from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, achieved an exceptional victory with the highest margin in this election, securing 12,26,751 votes. He was competing against Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) Sanjay. Notably, NOTA also made a record with two lakh votes.

Kangana Ranaut

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, known for her fearless portrayals on screen, made a remarkable political debut, contesting on a BJP ticket from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. She won against Congress' Vikramaditya Singh by 74,755 votes.

Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recorded a major victory in Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli, defeating BJP's Dinesh Pratap by 3,90,030 votes. He also won Wayanad's seat with a margin of 3,64,422 votes over his nearest rival Annie Raja of the Communist Party of India.

KL Sharma

Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma, a Gandhi family loyalist who always maintained a low profile, turned out to be the giant slayer by defeating Union minister Smriti Irani by a margin of 1,66,022 votes from the Amethi Lok Sabha seat on Tuesday. In 2019, Irani had defeated Rahul Gandhi from Amethi.

Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results: Key Losses

RK Singh

Union Minister RK Singh of BJP lost to Sudama Prasad of CPIML by a margin of 59,808 votes in Arrah Lok Sabha seat. Prasad defeated Singh of the BJP by 59,808 votes, garnering 529382 votes.

Smriti Irani

A BJP sitting MP and Union Minister Smriti Irani lost to Congress's Kishori Lal Sharma from Amethi by 1,67,196 votes. According to Election Commission data, while Sharma got 5,39,228 votes, Irani managed to get only 3,72,032 votes. Irani, who currently serves as the Minister of Women and Child Development and Minister of Minority Affairs, defeated Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury

A first-time contender Yusuf Pathan of the Trinammol Congress secured a comfortable victory over Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury in the Congress veteran's Baharampur bastion. TMC's Yusuf Pathan won the Baharampur seat against Chowdhury with a margin of 85,022 votes.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, lost to Congress stalwart Shashi Tharoor in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram by over 16,077 votes.
