Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2023: The elections to the 230 Assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh was held on November 17 in a single phase. Mandla falls under Mandla district and is a part of the Mandla Lok Sabha constituency.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Sampatia Bisen from the seat while Congress’ Ashok Marskole who is in the fray will look forward to win in the constituency.

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections witnessed 77.15 per cent voter turnout in the single phase voting surpassing the 75 per cent recorded in 2018 polls. Mandla saw an impressive 82.34 per cent polling for the 2023 MP elections.

On the polling day, Madhya Pradesh was marred by sporadic bouts of violence in several districts including Indore, Bhind, Chhatarpur and Morena.

Mandla elections 2018

Located in Mandla district, the seat was won by BJP candidate Deosingh Saiyam in 2018 with 888,73 votes defeating Congress' Sanjeev Chhotelal Uikey. While, Saiyam had won the seat 2008, Uikey emerged victorious in 2013.

As per the Election Commission of India the counting of votes and declaration of the results for the 2023 Madhya Pradesh polls will be held on December 3.

The tenure of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on 6 January 2024.
