The BJP registered a thumping win in the 2023 Rajasthan assembly elections, winning 115 seats out of 199 seats. The Congress which was in power managed to secure only 74 seats, while the BSP got none. The BJP also made significant inroads into the SC and ST reserved seats, which were traditionally dominated by Congress and BSP.

The BJP won 22 of the 34 SC seats and 12 of the 25 ST seats, while the Congress won 11 SC seats and 10 ST seats, respectively. The BSP, which had won six SC seats in 2018, lost all of them this time. The BJP also snatched four seats from the BSP in Nadbai, Karauki, Tijara and Nagar where the MLAs had later joined the Congress.

The BJP received 41.69 per cent of the total votes, an improvement of 2.41 per cent compared to the last state assembly elections, while the vote share of Congress and BSP witnessed a decline of 0.29 and 2.26 per cent, respectively. The Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) maintained their vote share, but the RLP won only one seat and the AAP failed to secure even a single seat in the Rajasthan legislative assembly.

The BJP got 12 of these seats, the RLP got two, and one was taken by an Independent who was a Congress defector. The BJP got nine seats in the ST category in 2018 while the Congress got 12.

The SC voters had mostly favoured the BJP in the 2013 Assembly elections, giving it 32 out of the 34 seats reserved for SC. At that time, the BJP had 163 seats while the Congress had only managed to secure 21 seats.
