Rajasthan Election Result 2023: The BJP put its best foot forward in the recently held Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh and its result was visible on Sunday as the counting of votes took place in four of the five states that went to the polls. In Rajasthan, the saffron party gained a decisive lead over the Congress party within hours of the commencement of counting of votes. Candidates fielded by the BJP won 115 seats out of the 199 seats where polling was held.
Meanwhile, the Congress managed to win 68 seats and was leading on one other. Though Ashok Gehlot retained his post as Sardarpura's MLA, he had to submit his resignation as the chief minister after his party faced defeat in the race to form the next government in Rajasthan. BJP bigwigs like two-time former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje, Lok Sabha MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, and Alwar MP Mahant Balak Nath did not disappoint the party leadership and registered victories in their respective constituencies.
