Telangana Assembly Election 2023: The Kukatpally Assembly seat is one of 119 assembly constituencies in Telangana and is part of the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency. It falls in the Medchal Malkajgiri district which is categorised as an urban seat. The polling of the 119-member Legislative Assembly in Telangana will be held on November 30 in a single phase while the results will be announced on December 3.

As far as the Kukatpally constituency is concerned, it plays an important role for Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which formally became a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in 2022. BRS candidate Madhavaram Krishna Rao is the current sitting MLA of the Kukatpally Assembly Constituency.

In the Kukatpally seat, there are 4,23,704 registered voters including 2,27,752 men and 1,95,881 women. In the 2018 Telangana elections, Kukatpally recorded a voter turnout of 57.73 per cent. In 2014 the turnout was 49.48 per cent.

Kukatpally Assembly Election 2018

In the 2018 Assembly election, TRS fielded Madhavaram Krishna Rao whereas Telugu Desam Party (TDP) gave a ticket to Nandamuri Venkata Suhasini. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fielded Madhavaram Kantha Rao while the BSP chose Harish Chandra Reddy Pannala. In 2018, the Kukatpally constituency was won by TRS candidate against TDP with a margin of 41,049 votes.

Kukatpally Assembly Election 2014

In the 2014 Assembly election, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, who fought the election on the TDP ticket, won the Kukatpally seat by defeating TRS candidate G Padma Rao with a margin of 43,186 votes while BSP candidate Harish Chandra Reddy Pannala secured the third runner up with 12,761 votes.
