Telangana Assembly Election 2023: The polling of the 119-member Legislative Assembly in Telangana will be held on November 30 in a single phase while the results will be declared on December 3. Currently, Telangana has a Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi government in the state.
The Quthbullapur Assembly seat is one of 119 assembly constituencies in Telangana and is part of the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency. Quthbullapur falls in Medchal Malkajgiri district which is categorised as an urban seat. As far as the Quthbullapur constituency is concerned, it plays an important role for Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which formally became a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in 2022. KP Vivekanand is the current sitting MLA of the Quthbullapur Assembly Constituency.
There are 4,23,704 registered voters in the seat, including 2,27,752 men and 1,95,881 women. Voter participation in Quthbullapur for the 2018 Telangana elections was 55.84 per cent. The voter turnout in 2014 was 48.3 per cent.
Quthbullapur Assembly Election 2018
In the 2018 Assembly election, TRS fielded KP Vivekanand whereas Congress gave a ticket to Kuna Srisailam Goud and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fielded Kasani Veeresh Kasani. In 2018, TRS candidate Vivekanand won from the Quthbullapur constituency against a Congress with a margin of 41,500 votes.
Quthbullapur Assembly Election 2014
In the 2014 Assembly election, KP Vivekanand, a candidate of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won this Quthbullapur seat by defeating TRS candidate K Hanmanth Reddy with a margin of 39,021 votes.
