Telangana Assembly Election 2023: The Uppal Assembly seat is one of 119 assembly constituencies in Telangana and is part of the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency. It falls in the Medchal Malkajgiri district which is categorised as an urban seat. The 119-member Telangana Legislative Assembly will be elected in a single phase on November 30. The results will be declared on December 3.

The Uppal constituency is significant for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), which officially changed its name to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in 2022. Bethi Subhas Reddy, a BRS candidate, is now serving as the Uppal Assembly Constituency's MLA.
Uppal Assembly Election 2018
In the 2018 Assembly election, TRS candidate Bethi Subhas Reddy won the Uppal constituency by defeating TDP candidate Tulla Veerender Goud with a margin of 41,049 votes. Reddy bagged 1,17,442 votes while Goud secured 69,274 votes.
Uppal Assembly Election 2014
In the 2014 Assembly election, Nvss Prabhakar, who fought the election on a BJP ticket, won the Uppal seat by defeating TRS candidate Bethi Subhas Reddy with a margin of 14,169 votes while INC candidate Bandari Lakshma Reddy secured the third runner-up with 34,331 votes.
