Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan announced the postponement of the trailer launch of Sitaare Zameen Par. It was initially scheduled for May 8. This decision comes after the team of Bhool Chuk Maaf announced that it will directly land on OTT and won’t release in theatres, seeing the current situation. Pakistan launched aerial attacks in several parts of India after Operation Sindoor. According to a report by Mid-Day, a source close to Aamir’s production house said, “Considering the developments at the borders and the nationwide alert, Aamir decided to postpone the release of Sitaare Zameen Par’s trailer. His thoughts are with the Bravehearts of our Armed Forces. He feels it is important to respond with unity and restraint during this time.”
The trailer of Sitaare Zameen Par was earlier set to release last month, but post the Pahalgam attack, it was postponed. Amid the current situation, Aamir didn’t appear at the special premiere of his 1994 movie Andaz Apna Apna in Mumbai, which was re-released on April 24, 2025.
Coming back to Sitaare Zameen Par, the movie also stars Genelia Deshmukh, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on June 20, 2025. It is the Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones.
Sitaare Zameen Par is the sequel of 2007 movie Taare Zameen Par. The film also features Aamir Khan, Darsheel Safary, Tisca Chopra, Tanay Chheda and Vipin Sharma in key roles. It has been directed by Aamir Khan and Amole Gupte. The movie was produced by Aamir himself. Taare Zameen Par was made on a budget of Rs 12 crore and had a worldwide collection of Rs 98.48 crore.
