Rajinikanth is currently working on a much-awaited movie Coolie. Since the announcement of the movie, it has been making headlines. The team has completed shooting two important schedules. Several pictures from the set of the movie were also leaked earlier this year.  Amid all the buzz, a report by Track Tollywood suggests that superstar Aamir Khan will be part of Rajinikanth’s Coolie. It is also said that he will be seen making a special appearance in the film. 

Earlier, there were speculations that Nagarjuna would be playing the antagonist in the Tamil movie but Kannada actor Upendra Rao grabbed the role. Coolie also casts Amitabh Bachchan, Shruti Haasan and Rana Daggubati in significant roles. The director of Coolie Lokesh Kanagaraj shared that the character announcements will be done on 28th August. He wrote on X, #Coolie Character announcements from tomorrow 6 PM @rajinikanth sir @anirudhofficial @anbariv @girishganges @philoedit @Dir_Chandhru @sunpictures.”

As the filmmaker shared the news, fans showcased their excitement about the movie. A user said, “2025 summer is going to be real. #Coolie. Can’t wait.” Another said, “Can’t wait brother Magnum Opus #Coolie cast update from tomorrow.” A comment read, “#Coolie Waiting.” 

The shooting of Coolie started in July this year in Hyderabad. The makers have not shared much details about the film but reports suggest that Coolie will be released in the second half of 2025. 

Aamir Khan will be next seen in Sitaare Zameen Par. It also stars Genelia D'Souza and Darsheel Safary in the leads. The movie is the sequel to Taare Zameen Par. On the other hand, Rajinikanth will be also seen in Vettaiyan. It also features Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Dushara Vijayan, Rana Daggubati, Abhirami and Manju Warrier in key roles. Vettaiyan is scheduled to be released in theatres in October 2024.
