K-pop girl group aespa has received over 1.8 million pre-orders for its third EP "My World," which is a new record for the band, according to its agency. This surpasses the previous record set by their second EP "Girls" in July, which sold over 1.61 million copies.

The third EP of K-pop group aespa, titled "My World", will be available on different music platforms starting at 6 p.m. KSt (2.30 p.m. IST) on Monday. The album will feature six songs of different genres, including the lead single "Spicy," "Welcome to My World," which was released earlier, as well as "Salty & Sweet," "Thirsty," "I'm Unhappy," and "Til We Meet Again."

The song "Spicy" is a dance track with a powerful synthesised bass and a lively rhythm. The song's lyrics showcase the group's spirited and youthful energy, Yonhap news agency reported.

Last Tuesday, aespa released the music video for "Welcome to My World" ahead of the EP's release, which invites Naevis, a virtual assistant in the band's metaverse-based lore, to the "real world." The song title represents the band's desire to invite listeners to their musical world, as explained by their agency, SM Entertainment.

The music video begins with showing its members going on a road trip to a forest and immersing themselves in nature, but there's an eerie atmosphere that follows them throughout the journey. It's later revealed that the mysterious aura is nævis, a personified AI system.

"Hey baby, welcome to why world / Beyond where feet fear to tread / It's a new world / You and me, face to face / In different languages / Your truth remains the same," they sing on the dreamy chorus.

In February, aespa had held their SYNK: Hyper Line concert, where they performed all four B-sides and some other unreleased songs. However, the release date of the rest of the previewed tracks is currently unknown, which also includes solo songs by each member of the group.
