For the first time as a K-pop girl group, Fifty Fifty has entered the top 10 of the British Official Singles Chart with their viral hit song Cupid. The latest chart released on Friday revealed that Cupid climbed nine places from the previous week to reach the ninth position in its sixth week on the chart.

The song Cupid by Fifty Fifty made its debut on the British Official Singles Chart at No. 96 and has been climbing up the rankings ever since, reaching No. 61, 34, 26, 18, and now landing in ninth place. This is a significant achievement for the K-pop girl group, as it is the first time they have made it into the Top 10 of the chart.

BLACKPINK's Sour Candy, a collaboration single with Lady Gaga in 2020, reached the highest ranking of 17th place on the British Official Singles Chart among K-pop girl groups prior to Cupid by Fifty Fifty.

The quartet, Saena, Aran, Keena and Sio, has achieved something that even popular K-pop girl groups like BLACKPINK, NewJeans, and TWICE have not been able to do, Yonhap news agency reported.

Their viral hit song Cupid has broken into the top 10 of the British Official Singles Chart, reaching a new peak at No. 9. The success of the song is seen as evidence of the growing popularity of the K-pop genre in the UK.

Unlike many K-pop hits, Cupid has a nostalgic sound and avoids mixing multiple genres. It has a sweet but sardonic pop sound that is similar to hits by artists like Ariana Grande and Doja Cat. The band's harmonies and a rap by Keena, as well as a large key change, contribute to the song's success.

"Being in a K-pop group with a K-pop song charting in the UK charts is very hard, that's what we've heard," Fifty Fifty member Aran told The Guardian. "So it's a great honour for us."

The song is expected to continue its run on the US Billboard chart for a seventh consecutive week, which is one of the two major music charts in the world, along with the Official Charts of Britain.

The group made their debut in November and achieved success in March by becoming the quickest K-pop group to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
