After her stunning appearance at the 2023 Met Gala, BLACKPINK's Jennie is all set to make her debut at this year's Cannes Film Festival. The K-pop star will attend the festival for the premiere of her HBO series, The Idol. The show was invited to the Out of Competition section of the festival in April. This will be a significant moment for Jennie and she will be seen joining the most prestigious events in the world, which will take place from Mat 16 to 27.

On May 11, YG Entertainment confirmed that “Jennie will attend the Cannes Film Festival on May 22.”

The Idol, starring Jennie Johnny Depp's daughter Lilly Rose Depp, The Weekend, and more, revolves around the life of musician Jocelyn who is on a journey to reclaim her status as the 'sexiest pop star'.

The show's synopsis reads, "The Idol focuses on Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), an aspiring pop idol who, after having a nervous breakdown that causes her last tour to be canceled, resolves to reclaim her title as the sexiest pop star in America and begins a complex relationship with Tedros (Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye), a self-help guru and the head of a contemporary cult."

The Idol will be premiering at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, the show is scheduled to premiere on June 4, 2023, on HBO.
