Akhil Akkineni expressed his support for his mother, Amala Akkineni, after she spoke out about Konda Surekha’s claims regarding KTR, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. Konda's comments, which connected Samantha's divorce to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader, sparked outrage on social media, eliciting strong reactions from celebrities and fans.

Akhil calls Konda Surekha 'Sociopath'

The Telugu film industry was taken aback when Surekha alleged that KTR was the reason behind the split between Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, stating that his supposed interference caused disruptions within the Akkineni family, leading to the couple’s unexpected divorce.

Taking to Twitter, Amala slammed Surekha and said, "Shocked to hear a woman minister turn into a demon, conjuring evil fictions allegations, preying on decent citizens as fuel for a political war. Madam Minister, do you rely and believe people with no decency to feed you utterly scandalous stories about my husband without an iota of shame or truth? This is really shameful. If leaders lower themselves into the gutter and behave like criminals, what will happen to our country?."

Reacting to this, Telugu actor Akhil shared, "My dear mother I support every word you have said and I am With you and the family..I’m sorry that you have to address this demonic nonsense but we have no choice sometimes but to deal with such sociopaths."

Allu Arjun's reaction

His statement reads, "I strongly condemn the baseless derogatory comments made about film personalities and film families. This behaviour is deeply disrespectful and goes against the values of our Telugu culture. Such irresponsible actions should not be accepted as normal. I urge the parties involved to act more responsibly and respect individual privacy, especially towards women. We must promote respect and dignity in society as a whole."

On the other hand, Chiranjeevi added, "It is a shame that celebs and members of film fraternity become soft targets as they provide instant reach and attention. We as Film Industry stand united in opposing such vicious verbal assaults on our members,” adding, “No one should stoop to this level for scoring political points by dragging unconnected people and more so women into their political slug fest and make distasteful fictional allegations."

What Konda Surekha said?

Surekha alleged that K.T. Rama Rao demanded Samantha's presence in exchange for not demolishing Nagarjuna Akkineni’s N-Convention Centre. She stated that Samantha's refusal contributed to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. According to Surekha, Nagarjuna pressured Samantha to meet with KTR, but she declined, which ultimately resulted in the divorce.

Reacting to the same, Samantha said, "Konda Surekha Garu, I am proud of what this journey turned me into—please don’t trivialise it. I hope you realise that your words carry significant weight as a minister. I implore you to be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy."

"To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. To be a woman, to come out and work, to survive in a glamorous industry where women are more often than not treated as props, to fall in love and to fall out of love, to still stand up and fight…It takes a lot of courage and strength," she added.

Meanwhile, in the wake of significant backlash for her remarks, Surekha has apologised to Samantha.
