2024 proved challenging for Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar as several of his films, including Sarfira, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Khel Khel Mein, failed to resonate with audiences. Despite his efforts, these movies struggled at the box office, with Sarfira collecting just Rs 26.3 crore domestically. However, the actor remains undeterred and is optimistic about his upcoming projects.
At the trailer launch of his next release, Sky Force, Akshay candidly addressed the setbacks. He emphasized his commitment to hard work, stating, "This isn’t the first time I’ve faced failures. I believe in continuing to work hard no matter what." The actor also revealed that some advised him to scale back and take on fewer films each year. However, Akshay firmly dismissed the idea, saying, "If I can work, why shouldn’t I? My career is built on dedication and perseverance."

Akshay expressed immense pride in Sarfira, calling it one of his "best films" despite its commercial failure. The movie, a remake of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, revolves around a man's mission to create affordable airlines for low-income individuals while battling numerous obstacles. Akshay stated, "I was very proud when I made Sarfira. It didn’t work, but it remains close to my heart."
Akshay Kumar is now gearing up for Sky Force, set to release globally on January 24, 2025, during the Republic Day weekend. The film, co-starring Veer Pahariya, promises to bring an action-packed narrative inspired by one of India’s deadliest airstrikes.
