Alia Bhatt, the Bollywood sensation known for her impeccable fashion sense, recently made waves at the Met Gala with her stunning appearance. The actress, renowned for her style statements, opted for a traditional saree by Sabyasachi, which garnered immense appreciation from fans and the fashion fraternity alike.
What set Alia’s look apart was not just her choice of attire but also her nod to Indian culture. To ward off the evil eye, Alia adorned a kajal dot (Kaala Teeka) behind her ear, a practice deeply rooted in Indian tradition. Returning to Mumbai post the gala, Alia was spotted at the private airport exuding boss lady vibes in a casual yet chic outfit. Dressed in blue denims, a grey blazer, and a white tee, she completed her look with sunglasses and white sneakers, effortlessly blending comfort with style.
During her red carpet interview with Vogue, Alia expressed her excitement at representing India in a saree for the first time. She mentioned, "When I thought of the dress code, ‘Garden of Time,’ I felt it needed something timeless and there’s nothing more timeless than a saree."
Despite the pressure of the event, Alia remained composed and focused on enjoying the moment. She emphasized the importance of staying light-hearted and having fun, which reflected in her radiant and joyful demeanor throughout the event.
Apart from her fashion endeavors, Alia has an exciting lineup of projects in the pipeline. She will be seen in 'Jigra,' directed by Vasan Bala and produced jointly by Alia and Karan Johar. Additionally, she has signed Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Love and War,' where she will star alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
