Alia Bhatt made heads turn at the Met Gala 2024. The actress donned a stunning saree by Sabyasachi Mukherjee which took 1965 man-hours to make. Living up to the brand’s name, Alia gracefully walked the red carpet. However, a video from the event is doing rounds on social media which saw paparazzi clicking the B-town star’s pictures as she walks the red carpet.
Multiple videos from the red carpet event captured cameramen shouting her name, but some social media users have suggested that one cameraman mistook Alia Bhatt for Deepika Padukone.

The incident gained widespread attention when a video circulated online where, amidst the chorus of "Alia" calls, a cameraman can be heard calling her "Deepika". Although this video quickly caught the public’s eye, fans of Alia Bhatt were swift in their response, claiming the video had been altered.
To support this, a user on the social media platform X posted both the original and the edited videos, clearly highlighting the discrepancies between the two and demonstrating the alteration.

Alia Bhatt also shared the clips from her Met Gala 2024 walk. She penned a heartfelt note in the caption and wrote, "It was a call to the Garden of Time - an ode to art and eternity. Timelessness is endless, and we acknowledge that things crafted with time and care, can last forever. In our journey for an Indian interpretation of this universal theme, the outfit took on a life of its own."
"Nothing embodies tradition and innovation like the saree; in the skilled hands of @sabyasachiofficial, this vision found its fullest expression. We looked to the past as a guide for the future, drawing inspiration from the timeless sophistication of Indian nobility. We focused on intricate craftsmanship, incorporating hand embroidery, precious stones, along with elegant beadwork and fringes, distinctive of the 1920’s fringe style. Our colour palette pays homage to nature’s beauty, echoing the earth, sky, and sea," Alia wrote.
