Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court for four weeks hours after he was arrested in connection with the tragic stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad that killed a woman and left her minor son critically injured. Justice Juvvadi Sridevi of Telangana High Court heard the interim bail petition application during the post-lunch session and claimed that Allu Arjun, despite being an actor, has a right to life and liberty as a citizen. The court has directed the actor to furnish a personal bond of ₹50,000. While expressing sympathy for the family of the deceased, the court said, "Saying that he is an actor, he cannot be deprived of his right. As a citizen of this earth, he too has the right to life and liberty."

Earlier in the day, Allu Arjun was arrested from his residence by Hyderabad Police. A lower court then sent the Pushpa 2 actor to judicial custody for 14 days. Following this, the actor moved to the High Court, seeking to quash the FIR against him. Along with Allu Arjun, two others who were arrested in the case were also granted bail.

As per reports from Bar and Bench, the judge commented, "We will grant interim bail for a certain period, and let them avail appropriate remedies meanwhile," offering a brief reprieve to the actor during the ongoing legal proceedings.

The tragic incident occurred on December 4, when Allu Arjun's unexpected presence at the Sandhya Theatre led to a chaotic surge of fans attempting to enter the venue. Reports state that the disorder was primarily caused by inadequate crowd management and security measures, even though the theatre management was fully aware of the high-profile visit.

In the aftermath of the incident, which resulted in the death of a woman, the police detained three individuals, including a co-partner of the theater. The authorities then charged Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theater management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. These charges were filed based on a complaint from the family of the deceased woman, and the case is being investigated at the Chikkadpally police station.
