Actor and model Poonam Pandey shocked everyone with the false news of her death. On Saturday, she took to Instagram to confirm her well-being and explained that the false news was circulated to raise awareness about cervical cancer, a serious issue that has resulted in multiple fatalities. Nevertheless, celebrities, including her friends from the industry, are unhappy with her publicity stunt and have slammed her for faking her death.
In a video statement, Poonam asserted, "I am alive. I didn't die of cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I can't say that about those hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives because of cervical cancer." Following this, the actress was brutally trolled and called out by her friends and followers.
Kusha Kapila said, "Here is an agency behind this. Someone actually came up with idea and also greenlit it I cannot.”

Riddhi Dogra commented, "I don’t blame her or the PR Team. They thought of the idea and knew it’ll be crazy. I blame media and journalists who have reported an Insta post as news without fact checking, they have taken an oath to tell the truth. But seems the oath’s meaning has changed to ‘sell people anything with screams and antics and they’ll buy it coz they’re stupid.’"
Vivek Agnihotri shared on X, "With the emerging challenges of SM, I think there should be some regulations, specially, for the newsmakers and those who call themselves influencers. Normalising sensationalism and gimmicks is dangerous. Fake death news is just the beginning. Aage aage dekho hota hai kya (just wait and watch)."
To this, Kangana replied, "Agree".

I don’t blame her or the PR team behind. They knew it’s a crazy idea and went with it. And mind you it was just a insta post. The journos who shared as news without fact checking is the real problem. People don’t realise by giving them a chances and blaming a girl may be easier. https://t.co/ifDAconc7X
