Amaran On OTT: Amaran, the Tamil film starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, made a successful worldwide theatrical debut on October 31, 2024, garnering widespread critical acclaim. The movie shattered multiple box office records, emerging as the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024 and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year. As the film prepares for its digital release, fans can look forward to watching Amaran on OTT platforms soon.

Amaran OTT Release

The Tamil film is set to make its OTT debut on December 5, but surprisingly, it won't be available on popular platforms like Amazon Prime or Zee5. Instead, the film will be exclusively released on Netflix, which has reportedly shelled out a whopping Rs 60 crore to acquire the digital rights.

Amaran is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India.

The film stars Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, alongside Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, and Bhuvan Arora. Based on the book series "India's Most Fearless" by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, the movie tells the story of Mukund's life through the eyes of his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, as she travels to New Delhi to receive the Ashoka Chakra, which was posthumously awarded to the Major.

The film, initially titled Sivakarthikeyan 21, was officially announced in January 2022, with the title Amaran revealed in February 2024. Filming began in May 2023, with shoots in Kashmir, Chennai, and Pondicherry, wrapping up after a year. The film features music by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by CH Sai, and editing by R.
