Amidst the ongoing debate over the credit for the success of Stree 2, with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao at the centre of the discussion, the actress has taken a moment to reflect on the profound impact that the franchise has had on her career and personal growth. In a recent statement, Shraddha Kapoor emphasised the significance of the Stree series, highlighting that both films, Stree and Stree 2, revolve around a woman's narrative - the vengeful spirit of Stree - who serves as the foundation and driving force behind the story.

By acknowledging the female-centric nature of the franchise, Kapoor underscored how her involvement in the project has been an empowering experience, allowing her to tap into the strength and resilience of the character, and in turn, discovering her own. She said in a conversation with Hello!, “Stree has empowered me. The film is centred around a woman and she holds the reins of the narrative.”
In the aftermath of the film's phenomenal box office triumph, a contentious debate has emerged, with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao becoming embroiled in a heated "credit war" over who deserves the lion's share of the accolades for the movie's success. Opening up about the same, Aparshakti Khurrana said in a conversation with Zoom TV, “Main ispe kuch bolunga, baat khulegi toh door tak jaayegi, main kuch bolna nahin chahunga, audience jo kahe wo sahi hai.”
He further added, “Jab humne shuru kiya tha, hume kisi ne nahi bola tha ki film iski hai ya uski hai. Jab humne film sign ki thi. Aapne khud hi dekha hoga bohot baar logo ne bola hai ki Jana ki entry pe log sabse zyada taaliyan bajate hain. Itne bade stars ke beech main kya hai Jana? Yeh film ensemble cast ki film hai. Yeh sabki film hai and that is the beauty of the film jo kisi shor ya comparison se change nahi hoga.”
