The feud between pop sensations AP Dhillon and Diljit Dosanjh has been in news for a while, with the former accusing Diljit of blocking him on social media and being fake. While 'Lover' singer, currently performing in India as a part of his 'Dil-Luminati' tour, has expressed that he does not have problems with any artists, now Dhillon has fired an indirect jab at the singer. Recently in a podcast while talking about the recent pattern of concert tickets selling out really quickly, the Canadian rapper accused singers of using this "dirty" tactic and being unfair to the fans.
AP Dhillon in a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast shared his views on how artists sell tickets to promoters before the show, which eventually forces fans to buy at higher prices. He said, "India mein abhi crisis aa jayega agar isi hisab se chalta raha (There’ll come a crisis in India if things go on like this). Artists are being unfair with their own fans ki 15 seconds mein sell out ho gaye shows. Kuchh bhi sell out nahi hua hai (that shows sold out within 15 seconds. Nothing is sold out). It’s all a way of marketing. Promoters ko ticket de dete hain. Their fans, ab unko wait karna padta hai, aur higher price mein ticket khareedna padta hai (They sell tickets to promoters. The fans have to wait and buy tickets at higher prices).”
AP Dhillon shared how he also considered engaging in similar practices but his conscience did not allow him to do so.
“At some point, humein bhi yehi laga (we also thought), should we play this game? But I’m like no, we can’t go to bed knowing that jinhone show dekhne aana tha, humne unke sath aise kiya (those who wanted to attend the show, we did this to them)," he continued.
Further sharing his views on this, the 'Brown Munde' singer added, “You name it, koi bhi show ho raha hai jo sold out hai, mujhe batao, 2,000 tickets chahiye, kal hi dilwa dunga. Aaj hi dilwa dunga. Log music ko abhi game ki tarah khel rahe hain. So usi mein mazza jo hai kharab ho gaya (Any show which is sold out, ask me if you need 2,000 tickets, I’ll get them for you tomorrow, or even today. People are playing music like a game. That’s sucked the joy out of it).”
He called this whole process a "dirty game".
AP Dhillon And Diljit Dosanjh's Controversy
The feud began among the singers when the actor-singer during his concert in Indore lauded AP Dhillon and Karan Aujla for their performances in India. In response, at his own concert in Chandigarh, AP requested Diljit to unblock him on Instagram. After this public revelation, both the singers are taking digs at each other on social media platforms.
