Oscar-winner singer and music composer AR Rahman took to his social media on Monday, September 11, and accepted the ownership of the mishap that happened at his Chennai concert on September 10. He requested his fans who were not allowed to enter the premises despite having a ticket, and shared his grievances with his team. Sharing a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), AR Rahman promised to compensate and respond to them via his team. Several people were denied entry due to overcrowding.

AR Rahman’s concert took place at Adityaram Palace in Chennai on September 10. It received immense flak on social media, slamming the ACTC Events for a terrible management team. Several children were misplaced, women were molested because of lack of security. After receiving severe criticism online, AR Rahman paid heed to the grievances of his fans.

Sharing his announcement on X, he wrote, “Dearest Chennai Makkale, those of you who purchased tickets and weren’t able to enter owing to unfortunate circumstances, please do share a copy of your ticket purchase to arr4chennai@btos.in along with your grievances. Our team will respond asap @BToSproductions @actcevents (sic)."

The concert was supposed to take place on August 12, however it was cancelled due to excessive rain. It then got postponed to September 10, and was promoted as India’s biggest concert with around 50,000 people in attendance.

Hours before the concert, several people were denied entry to the venue due to overcrowding, with a situation of stampede occurring at the moment. Several women online alleged that they were molested, with children and elderly people being displaced.

Towards the end of the concert, the chairman of Adityaram Palace expressed his displeasure and also appealed to ACTC Events asking them to organise their upcoming events properly.
