Ayushmann Khurrana, whose performance in Andhadhun was loved by critics and audiences alike, has shared some unknown facts related to the movie. Recently, the actor revealed that he snatched the film from director Sriram Raghavan, who thought that Ayushmann was not the right choice for Andhadhun. The film also stars Tabu and Radhika Apte in the lead alongside Ayushmann. The actor, while spilling the beans regarding the casting of the movie, stated that he and Tabu were unaware that the film has a comedy edge.

Ayushmann in an interview with Mashable, said “I have snatched the film from him. I have hustled in the film. Hustling is very important for outsiders, I am still hustling. I had come to know that he is writing and making this film, so I showed up at his office and told him that I want to do this film and he said that I can’t see you in this film, which is just what Anubhav Sinha told me for Article 15. He too had said ‘I don’t see you in this film’ and I had asked him to audition me. After you become a successful actor, people don’t ask you to audition. In the west, however, the biggest stars still audition. So I am not ashamed. If you have confidence in your craft then why can’t you give an audition?”

Sharing audition experience, the actor said “He said, ‘We’ll jam on these scenes’. He was kind of auditioning me. I was like, ‘Let’s do this’. I had this excitement in me. Whenever a film comes to me, I treat it as my first film. It feels like the first project, give it your all. Until you have that excitement there is no fun in life.”

“We also didn’t know that Andhadhun is going to be a funny film. Tabu and I were very serious, he didn’t tell us that it is a dark comedy,” he added.

Andhadhun was released on 5th October 2018 and was produced by Matchbox and Viacom.
