Bad Newz: Plot
Saloni Bagga (Triptii), a chef with aspirations of winning the prestigious Meraki Star for her restaurant, quickly bonds with Akhil Chadha (Vicky), and they marry soon after. However, their marriage soon encounters difficulties, leading to the loss of the Meraki Star for Saloni's restaurant and her subsequent firing. The couple decides to divorce, and Saloni moves to Mussoorie to work for Gurbir Singh Pannu (Ammy). During a turbulent period, a drunk Saloni has a one-night stand with Gurbir, and that same night, Akhil appears at her room, leading to another one-night stand.
Saloni discovers she is pregnant with twins, and a paternity test reveals that the twins have different fathers due to a rare condition called heteropaternal superfecundation—Akhil and Gurbir are the fathers. This revelation sparks a rivalry between Akhil and Gurbir, each trying to prove themselves as the better partner and father. The stress causes Saloni to faint, and she is hospitalised. The doctor informs her that Gurbir’s baby is not developing well, while Akhil’s baby is healthy. To save both babies, Akhil makes the selfless choice to advance the delivery, giving both infants a chance to survive.
The delivery is successful, and both babies are born healthy, with Saloni recovering well. Touched by Akhil’s sacrifice, Saloni proposes marriage again, which he gladly accepts. Gurbir reconnects with his ex-girlfriend, and the two couples decide to co-parent the twins together. Eventually, Saloni’s restaurant earns the coveted Meraki Star.
