Devara: Part 1 is an anticipated action drama directed and written by Koratala Siva. The film features N. T. Rama Rao Jr. in a dual role, alongside Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor, who are making their Telugu film debut. The supporting cast includes Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and Narain. Devara: Part 1, which is slated for a theatrical release on September 27, has been granted a U/A certificate following four rounds of modifications.

"Sparking a tidal wave of excitement, man of masses NTR Jr's Devara: Part 1 (Telugu) has been given the green light to cast off, securing a U/A certificate from the censor board," said the makers.

According to Bollywood Hungama report, the film’s producers were required to make four specific edits before receiving a U/A certification, which allows unrestricted public exhibition but advises parental guidance for children under 12. The changes primarily involved scenes of violence. First, a scene featuring a character kicking his wife in the stomach had to be altered. Similarly, another scene depicting a character kicking his mother was also modified.

Additionally, a five-second sequence showing a character hanging from a sword and then sliding down was removed. The fourth adjustment was technical: the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) requested the inclusion of a disclaimer in a notable scene where Jr NTR rides a CGI-generated shark, to ensure clarity that no real animals were harmed during filming, as animal cruelty is prohibited in India.

Following these revisions, Devara: Part 1 was approved for release with a U/A rating and has a total runtime of 2 hours and 58 minutes.

Devara Part 1 Receives U/A Certificate

Set against the backdrop of a coastal region, Devara: Part 1 is an epic action saga that centers on a fearless man named Devara. Determined to safeguard his people, he bravely navigates the perilous world of the sea, unaware of his brother Bhaira's sinister plot against him. Ultimately, Devara entrusts his legacy to his gentle son, Varada.

Jr. NTR stars in dual roles as Devara and Varada ("Vara"), Devara's son. Saif Ali Khan plays Bhaira, with his voice dubbed by P. Ravi Shankar. Janhvi Kapoor features as Thangam, and the cast also includes Shruti Marathe and Prakash Raj. Announced in April 2021 under the working title NTR30, the film’s official title was revealed in May 2023. By late 2023, it was confirmed as the first part of a duology. The film features a soundtrack composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by R. Rathnavelu and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.
