Barroz OTT Release: Barroz, released in 3D formats on December 25, 2024, to coincide with Christmas, garnered mixed to negative reviews from both critics and audiences. While the film's 3D effects, cinematography and artwork were commended, its screenplay and performances were heavily criticized. Unfortunately, the film ultimately became one of the biggest box-office flops, failing to meet expectations. Amid poor box office performance, the audience awaits its OTT release. Barroz OTT Release

Following its theatrical run, Barroz is reportedly set to make its digital debut on Disney+Hotstar, marking the film's OTT premiere, as per online reports.

Barroz, also known as Barroz: Guardian of Treasures, is a 2024 Malayalam fantasy film marking Mohanlal's directorial debut. Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, the film features an ensemble cast, including Mohanlal in the lead role, Maya Rao West, Cesar Lorente Raton, Ignacio Mateos, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Nerea Camacho, and Tuhin Menon.

The inception of Barroz dates back to April 2019, when the project was first announced, with its narrative rooted in Jijo Punnoose's novel, Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure. Initially, Punnoose's story was set to be adapted into a screenplay, with pre-production works commencing shortly after the announcement. However, the project's progress was sluggish, with pre-production stretching over a year. Eventually, principal photography began in March 2021, but the production was soon disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The unforeseen circumstances prompted significant changes to the story, screenplay, and cast. In response to these challenges, Mohanlal and T. K. Rajeev Kumar collaborated to rewrite the scenes, characters, and locations. Unfortunately, this overhaul led to Jijo Punnoose's departure from the project, resulting in the forfeiture of his credits.
