Bigg Boss OTT 3: The TV reality show is set to return for its third season with a surprising twist. Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor seems to be taking over the hosting duties from Salman Khan, as teased in a recent promo video. Fans can expect a 'khaas' season, as promised by Kapoor in the video.
The promo begins with the usual high-octane drama among contestants, but the atmosphere changes dramatically when a mysterious figure enters the room. Although his face is obscured, the voice unmistakably belongs to Anil Kapoor. He commands attention with his signature style, saying, "Bahot hua jhakas, karte hai iss baar kuch khaas." This moment marks the beginning of a new era for the show. Jio Cinema shared the video with the caption, “A new host for the new season of Bigg Boss OTT! Aur Bigg Boss ki tarha, inki awaaz hi kaafi hai.” While the exact start date in June is still under wraps, the excitement is palpable.
The news of Anil Kapoor's new role was initially leaked by the popular X handle ‘The Khabri,’ which reported, “#AnilKapoor to host new season of #BiggBossOTT3.” While some fans are thrilled about the change, others are expressing their disappointment over Salman Khan's departure.
Anil Kapoor's daughter Sonam Kapoor also shared the same promo on her Instagram stories and wrote, "They've got the most talented, hardworking and handsome man onboard" hinting at Kapoor joining the show.
Comments like "No Bigg Boss without Salman" and concerns about potential TRP drops are making rounds on social media. Some even suggested that Karan Johar, who hosted the first season of Bigg Boss OTT, could have been a better choice.

Interestingly, in April, Endemol Shine India, the production house behind Bigg Boss, shared a poster featuring Salman Khan asking, “Who do you want to see in Bigg Boss OTT?” This post, however, was later deleted, adding to the speculation about the host change.
Salman Khan has recently been in the news for reasons beyond his hosting duties. On April 14, gunshots were fired outside his Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang was reportedly behind the attack, with the gangster’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, claiming responsibility via a Facebook post. This incident has also raised questions about Salman Khan’s availability and safety, potentially influencing the decision to bring in a new host.
As the show gears up for its premiere, fans are eagerly waiting to get some official confirmation with regards to the new host of the season 3 of Bigg Boss OTT.
