The makers of the superhero film Black Adam have locked its OTT release date. Starring Dwayne Johnson in the lead role, the film also features Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan in pivotal roles.
Black Adam released worldwide in theaters on October 3, 2023. The plot of the film revolves around Black Adam, who was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods nearly 5,000 years ago and imprisoned just as quickly. He is now freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.
Directed and written by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam will be streaming digitally this week on OTT giant Amazon Prime Video. The movie will be available from March 15, 2023 in English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil audio formats.
Recently, Dwayne Johnson weighed in on Henry Cavil’s exit as Superman from DC. “All that I can do, and all that we could do when we were making ‘Black Adam,’ was to put our best foot forward and surround ourselves with the best people and deliver the best movie we could,” said Dwayne Johnson in an interview with Variety.
The actor also spoke about the bad performance of Black Adam at the box-office and added, “Our audience score was in the 90s. Critics took a couple shots, but that’s just the business of it. It’s almost like when you have a pro football team and your quarterback wins championships and your head coach wins championships and then a new owner comes in and says, ‘Not my coach, not my quarterback. I’m going to go with somebody new.'”
The Hollywood star further added, “After 15 years of relentless hard work to finally make ‘Black Adam,’ I’m very proud of the film we delivered for fans worldwide. I will always look back on the fan reaction to ‘Black Adam’ with tremendous gratitude, humility and love.”
