BLACKPINK Jennie has made history once again! Her latest solo single, ExtraL, has debuted at No. 75 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the week of March 8, marking her highest solo entry to date. This impressive feat surpasses her previous records with Love Hangover, which peaked at No. 96, and Mantra, which reached No. 98.
Jennie’s solo career has been on a steady rise. Her past hits include One of the Girls, which peaked at No. 51, but ExtraL now stands as her biggest solo debut on the prestigious chart. The track, featuring Grammy-winning rapper Doechii, brings together powerful beats and Jennie’s signature confidence. Since its release on February 21 at 2 p.m. KST, along with a visually stunning music video, the song has taken the music world by storm.
Lyrically, ExtraL is an anthem for bold and fearless women who embrace life on their own terms. Jennie’s striking presence in the music video, where she effortlessly balances elegance and power in a sleek white blazer over a red bralette, further reinforces the song’s empowering message. Doechii’s hard-hitting verses add to the rebellious energy, making ExtraL an unforgettable track.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Jennie shared her excitement about her upcoming solo album, Ruby, which is set to release on March 7, 2025. She hinted at the diverse sounds within the album, saying, “I’m playing with a lot of different genres and elements—I'm rapping here, I’m singing here, I’m harmonizing here, I’m talking here… The overall sound was me making sure I liked every single [song].”
