BLACKPINK Jisoo recently appeared on Red Velvet's Seulgi’s YouTube series, Hi Seulgi, in a heart-to-heart conversation that touched on the filming of her upcoming Kdrama, Newtopia. The episode, titled Vacation Life, provided an engaging look into Jisoo's experiences while working on the highly anticipated adaptation of the novel Influenza.

In their relaxed chat, Seulgi and Jisoo shared a meal and discussed various aspects of Jisoo’s recent work. The conversation quickly turned to Newtopia, which Jisoo had just finished filming. This dystopian drama, based on the novel Influenza, has generated considerable buzz among fans and Jisoo's insights into the project offer a deeper understanding of its creation.

Seulgi began by noting the completion of the filming, expressing admiration for Jisoo’s dedication. Jisoo responded with a light-hearted acknowledgement, reflecting on the challenges she faced during production. “Lol, really?” she laughed, revealing that while the overall experience was rewarding, maintaining continuity in extreme temperatures was particularly difficult. “We wore the same clothes in July that we wore in December,” Jisoo explained. This posed a significant challenge, as the team had to ensure that wardrobe and hairstyles remained consistent despite the drastic seasonal changes.

The filming for Newtopia began in December, meaning Jisoo and her co-stars had to endure winter conditions while shooting scenes that would later be depicted in summer attire. This led to additional complications, as Jisoo had to maintain her appearance and wardrobe throughout the filming period. When Seulgi inquired about potential changes in Jisoo’s weight and appearance, Jisoo playfully suggested, “Check it out on the broadcast,” hinting at the meticulous efforts made to keep the production seamless.

This newfound curiosity has broadened her perspective and appreciation for genre filmmaking.
