BLACKPINK Lisa is back, and this time, she’s making waves with her latest single, New Woman. The BLACKPINK star collaborated with Spanish sensation Rosalía to create a vibrant, Y2K-inspired track that dropped on August 16 IST, accompanied by an eye-catching music video. The song is already capturing hearts with its powerful bilingual (English and Spanish) lyrics and catchy beats.
In the chorus, Lisa confidently sings, “Hit it when I serve/ B—-, you better swerve/ Revving up my, uh-uh-uh-uh-aura/ Focus on my mind/ Taking my time/ I’m a new woman," setting the tone for her new era. Rosalía’s verse adds a bilingual flair: “Nací pura, sí/ Ni una era será un flop en mi porvenir/ P—, soy la Rosalía, solo sé servir,” which translates to, “I was born pure/ There won’t be a flop era in my future/ W—-, I’m Rosalía, I only know how to serve."
This single comes on the heels of Lisa’s earlier release, Rockstar, which made a strong debut on the Billboard charts, including a No. 1 spot on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. With New Woman, Lisa continues to build on her solo career, showcasing her evolving artistry. Notably, Lisa has co-written the lyrics for this track, reflecting her deeper involvement in her music.
Fans are thrilled with the new release, especially the seamless transition between Lisa and Rosalía in the song. One fan commented, “Lalisa is a New Woman now. She is free to do whatever she wants and make her music. She is embracing her talents and herself. She looks more confident in herself now. I love it. She is finally free. Happy for her."

The music video, directed by Dave Meyers, adds to the song’s appeal with its stunning visuals and attention to detail. The ending lyrics, "Bad luck a sucker, gotta make you tougher/ Tryna say you suffer/ Oh, don't blame your mother/ Elevate, I liberate a new frontier/ I'm a new woman," resonate with listeners, urging them to take control of their lives and end their suffering by taking action.
Lisa’s collaboration with RCA Records and her own company, LLOUD, marks a significant step in her solo journey, allowing her to retain ownership of her master recordings. With New Woman, Lisa is not just making music; she’s making a statement and fans are all in for it.
