Song Joong Ki’s crime thriller Bogotá: City Of The Lost is all set to reach a wider audience as it prepares for its OTT debut. The film, which follows the journey of survival in the unfamiliar and perilous terrains of Bogotá, Colombia, was initially released in South Korean theatres late last year. Despite its star-studded cast and gripping storyline, the movie did not perform as expected at the box office.
The cast includes Song Joong Ki, who portrays Guk Hee, a young Korean man rebuilding his life in Bogotá after losing everything during the IMF crisis. His character’s journey of success comes with high stakes as he becomes entangled in the Colombian black market, risking his life and morality for survival. The film also features stellar performances by Lee Hee Joon, Jo Hyun Chul, and Kwon Hae Hyo, who bring depth to their respective roles.

Despite the movie’s lacklustre reception in theatres, the team has expressed hope for a better response on digital platforms. During promotional events, the actors shared their disappointment over the film’s performance, with some even shedding tears over the challenges they faced in connecting with audiences. The movie will now be available for streaming on Netflix from February 4, 2025.
Now, with its OTT release just around the corner, fans are excited to revisit the story and immerse themselves in the gripping tale of ambition, betrayal, and survival. Social media platforms have been buzzing with the trailer, reigniting interest in the movie.
Bogotá: City Of The Lost also features Kwon Hae Hyo as Sergeant Park, a key figure in Guk Hee’s journey, alongside Park Ji Hwan, Jo Hyun Chul, and Kim Jong Soo. Each character adds layers to the narrative, making it a compelling watch for crime-thriller enthusiasts.
Apart from Bogotá, Netflix is also gearing up to release other intriguing Korean movies, such as When Life Gives You Tangerines, The Art of Sarah and Melo Movie. With these releases, fans of K-content have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks.
