The Bombay High Court restrained the release of the film 'Shaadi Ke Director Karan Aur Johar', citing a strong prima facie case of unauthorised use of filmmaker Karan Johar's name and personality. Filmmaker Karan Johar personally approached the court against the producers IndiaPride Advisory and Sanjay Singh, as well as writer-director Bablu Singh, alleging unlawful use of his name in the film's title. The matter has been adjourned to July 10. The court's order extends to all promotional materials associated with the film.

Karan Johar has taken legal action by approaching the Bombay High Court against the makers. His team confirmed that Johar filed a plea addressing the misuse of his name, emphasising that it was unlawfully incorporated into the title of the upcoming Hindi movie. "Bollywood director-producer Karan Johar has approached the Bombay High Court against the makers of upcoming Hindi movie Shaadi Ke Director Karan Aur Johar, saying they have unlawfully used his name in the title."

The filmmaker is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, 'Kill'. The recently unveiled trailer showcases Lakshya proposing to Tanya Maniktala on a train, only to face a sudden attack by a group of assailants, turning their romantic journey into a harrowing ordeal. Raghav Juyal also features prominently in the trailer. Portrayed as an unconventional soldier, Lakshya unleashes a fierce battle to protect his loved ones.

Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Karan Johar, 'Kill' premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2023 and is slated for theatrical release on July 5, 2024. The film has garnered acclaim for its gripping action sequences, solidifying Lakshya's position as a rising star in the film industry.
