Boney Kapoor, the renowned Bollywood producer, recently shared some heartfelt and candid insights into his personal life, particularly his relationship with the late legendary actress Sridevi. In a recent conversation with Zoom TV, Boney Kapoor revealed an interesting anecdote involving his mother's reaction to his relationship with Sridevi.
According to Boney Kapoor, while his wife at the time, Mona Shourie, was aware of his feelings for Sridevi, his mother learned about it later. In a quirky turn of events, during one Raksha Bandhan celebration, Boney's mother presented a thaali (puja plate) with a rakhi to Sridevi, asking her to tie it to Boney. However, Sridevi, not understanding the significance of the gesture, simply took the thaali to the room. Boney Kapoor recalled the incident with humor, stating, “Sridevi just went to the room and I told her, ‘Don’t worry, don’t bother, keep this thaali here.’ She didn’t understand what the rakhi was all about.”
Boney Kapoor's relationship with Sridevi was a topic of much speculation and media attention. The two eventually tied the knot on June 2, 1996, and together they had two daughters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, both of whom have followed in their parents' footsteps and ventured into acting.
Before his marriage to Sridevi, Boney Kapoor was married to Mona Shourie, with whom he had two children, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor. Arjun Kapoor, now a successful actor in Bollywood, made his debut with YRF's 'Ishaqzaade' opposite Parineeti Chopra. Boney Kapoor opened up about the challenges he faced in his personal life, including dealing with his children's emotions, especially Arjun's, after his divorce from Mona and subsequent remarriage to Sridevi.
