Bougainvillea Box Office Collection Day 1: Despite receiving mixed reviews from audiences, Amal Neerad's latest film, has opened impressively. This Malayalam crime thriller, written and directed by Neerad in collaboration with co-writer Lajo Jose, features Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil and Jyothirmayi in lead roles, with notable performances from Sharaf U Dheen, Veena Nandakumar and Srinda. Marking Jyothirmayi's return to the big screen after an 11-year hiatus, Bougainvillea was released theatrically worldwide on October 17, 2024, offering an engaging mix of crime and action.
Bougainvillea Box Office Report
According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Bougainvillea earned ₹3.25 crores on its opening day, with an overall Malayalam occupancy of 43.37% on Thursday, October 17, 2024. The occupancy rates varied throughout the day, with morning shows at 35.19%, afternoon shows at 32.15%, evening shows at 44.18%, and night shows peaking at 61.97%. Major collections were reported from Kochi at 65.75% and Kottayam at 57.50%.

About Bougainvillea
The film stars Kunchacko Boban as Dr. Royce Thomas, Fahadh Faasil as ACP David Koshy IPS, and Jyothirmayi as Reethu Thomas. Supporting roles are portrayed by Sharaf U Dheen as Biju, Veena Nandakumar as Meera, Srinda as Rema, and Jinu Joseph.
Produced by Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban under Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures, Bougainvillea tells the story of Royce and Reethu, a happy couple with two children whose lives are turned upside down after a tragic accident leaves Reethu mentally impacted. Concurrently, ACP David Koshy is assigned to investigate the mysterious disappearance of tourists in Kerala, with Reethu becoming the primary suspect in the case.
Principal photography for Bougainvillea commenced in September 2023 and wrapped up in April 2024, conducted discreetly. The film features music by Sushin Shyam, cinematography by Anend C. Chandran, and editing by Vivek Harshan.
