Bougainvillea OTT Release Date Confirmed: The psychological thriller Bougainvillea, directed by Amal Neerad, is making its way to OTT platforms after a theatrical release in October 2024. Featuring Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi in lead roles, the film has generated excitement among fans of Malayalam cinema. The movie also includes a cameo by Fahadh Faasil, further adding to its star appeal.

The movie revolves around Reethu, a woman suffering from retrograde amnesia, and her husband, Dr. Royce Thomas. Their lives are disrupted when Reethu becomes a prime suspect in a missing person investigation, led by cop David Koshy IPS, portrayed by Fahadh Faasil. With its intriguing premise and psychological depth, Bougainvillea delves into themes of memory, trust and deception.

When and Where to Watch Bougainvillea Online?

Bougainvillea is set to premiere on Sony LIV on December 13, 2024. The OTT platform announced the release with the caption, “Every petal tells a story, every twist leaves you guessing. #Bougainvillea blooms this 13th December only on Sony LIV.” The film will be available in five languages—Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi—making it accessible to a wider audience.

Co-written by Lajo Jose and Amal Neerad, the screenplay is based on Lajo Jose’s novel Ruthinte Lokam. Jyothirmayi, who makes a significant comeback with this film, has been widely praised for her portrayal of Reethu. Kunchacko Boban plays her supportive husband, while a talented supporting cast—including Sharaf U Dheen, Srinda, Veena Nandakumar and others—adds depth to the story.

The technical brilliance of the movie is enhanced by Sushin Shyam’s music and Anend C Chandran’s cinematography. Edited by Vivek Harshan, Bougainvillea is jointly produced by Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures, marking a collaboration between Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban.
