BTS ARMYs have much to look forward to this October, as it marks two significant events for the beloved Kpop group. Jhope, also known as Jung Ho-seok, is set to be discharged from the military on October 17, 2024. This will make him the second member of BTS to complete his mandatory service, following Jin's return earlier this year in June. Fans are eagerly awaiting Jhope’s return and have already started sharing banners and advertisements celebrating his homecoming in Seoul, lighting up social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) with photos and videos of the heartwarming displays.
Adding to the excitement, October is also the birth month of BTS Jimin, who will be turning 29 on October 13. Born in 1995, the singer has been a cherished member of the group since its debut, captivating fans with his vocals, dance and charisma. However, Jimin is currently fulfilling his own military service duties and will not be able to celebrate his birthday in person with fans. Despite his absence, ARMYs are showing immense love and appreciation for the idol, flooding social media with tributes, artwork and birthday wishes.

In a recent Weverse post, Jhope shared an emotional update with fans, reflecting on his military experience. As he counted down the last 30 days of his service, the artist expressed a mix of nostalgia and excitement for what lies ahead. His message coincided with the celebration of Chuseok, the Korean harvest festival, making it a sentimental moment for fans who have missed his presence.
“I’ve organized my belongings, passed on my favorite items to my successors, and as I look back, what once seemed like a long time now feels like a rewarding journey. I’ll see you next month,” J-Hope wrote, hinting at his anticipation of reuniting with ARMY. Fans expressed their excitement and support through heartfelt messages, reminiscing about his past performances and eagerly waiting for what he will bring post-military.
Hoseok’s letter on Weverse 😭😭 thinking of his discharge from the military is already making me tear up… I just miss Hobi so much and it’s been almost a year and a half… ITS DARK WITHOUT OR SUNSHINE AND WITHOUT HOPE

Jimin’s last year birthday celebrations saw a surprise interaction when RM, BTS' leader, crashed his Weverse live to wish him a happy birthday. Even though Jimin considers his birthday to be a low-key day, ARMYs made sure to send him countless birthday wishes and messages of love, showing just how much they cherish him. In a live broadcast, Jimin revealed gifts from his fellow members, including a plushie from Jin and a hilarious edit made by V, adding to the festive mood despite the distance.
