BTS has once again proven their unmatched influence by becoming the most searched Kpop group on Google in 2024. Despite their military hiatus, the group has maintained its position at the forefront of the music world, with fans eagerly awaiting their return. The seven-member group—comprising RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook—last performed together during their Yet to Come concert in Busan on October 15, 2022. The free event marked a significant moment for ARMYs as it was the group’s final performance before their military enlistments began. Just days later, HYBE Corporation confirmed the news of their enlistments, bringing an indefinite pause to group activities.
In June 2022, BTS announced a hiatus during their annual Festa dinner, citing military obligations as the primary reason. While the news saddened fans, the group continued to release solo music and participate in individual projects, keeping their connection with ARMYs alive.
Even without public group performances since 2022, BTS released Take Two on June 9, 2023, as a gift to their fans, celebrating their 10th debut anniversary. The track, a heartfelt tribute to their journey, became their final release as a group before their hiatus.

Fans, known as ARMYs, have consistently supported the members' solo endeavours. Despite the lack of group interactions this year, BTS managed to dominate Google searches, showcasing the unwavering dedication of their global fanbase. While RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook are currently fulfilling their mandatory military service, SUGA is serving as a social service agent. Their expected discharge dates are set for mid-2025.
Meanwhile, Jin and J-Hope have completed their military duties this year. Jin celebrated his return with a fan meet-and-greet session on June 13 and participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics as an Olympic torchbearer. He is also set to appear on the variety show KIAN's Bizarre B&B in 2025. J-Hope has kept busy with solo activities, including throwing the ceremonial first pitch at a Korean Series baseball game in Gwangju. With all members expected to complete their military service by the end of 2025, speculation about a group reunion has been growing. BTS had previously hinted at plans to return as a full group once their obligations were fulfilled, raising anticipation among fans worldwide.
