BTS has achieved another remarkable feat as their hit music video Boy With Luv, featuring Halsey, has surpassed 1.8 billion views on YouTube. This marks the second music video by the global Kpop sensation to reach this milestone, further solidifying their influence even while the group is on a temporary hiatus due to military enlistments.

Boy With Luv was originally released on April 12, 2019. In just over five years, it has accumulated an extraordinary number of views, making it the second music video by a Kpop boy group to hit 1.8 billion views. Before this, BTS’ Dynamite was the first of their music videos to achieve the same landmark.

In addition to Boy With Luv and Dynamite, other BTS tracks like DNA, MIC Drop, and Fake Love have all crossed the billion-view mark, showing the group’s unmatched global popularity. Among other Kpop artists, PSY’s iconic Gangnam Style and BLACKPINK’s DDU-DU DDU-DU and Kill This Love have also achieved similar success on YouTube, highlighting the rise of Kpop’s international reach.

BTS, consisting of seven members—RM, Suga, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, V and Jhope—debuted in 2013 and quickly became one of the most popular and influential Kpop groups worldwide. Their impressive discography includes chart-topping hits like Blood Sweat & Tears, Butter, ON, and Black Swan. The group also made history as the first Kpop act to be nominated for a Grammy Award.

Despite six of the seven members currently fulfilling their mandatory military service, BTS continues to captivate their fanbase, ARMY, with their lasting impact. Jin, the only member who has yet to enlist, recently hosted a special fan event during the group’s 11th anniversary celebration, FESTA, held in June 2024. The rest of the group is expected to reunite in 2025 after completing their military duties.
