A recent moment from BTS Jin’s variety show RUN JIN has sparked a heated discussion among fans. In episode 20, which aired on February 4, 2025, comedian Heo Kyunghwan admitted that he once failed to acknowledge Jin’s greeting during a past appearance on a show. While Heo Kyunghwan expressed regret and tried to clear the air, ARMYs were not pleased, calling out the industry’s long-standing bias against artists from smaller companies.

BTS, now one of the biggest names in global music, has faced its fair share of struggles in the past. Many ARMYs recalled how the group was often overlooked during their early days, and this recent revelation only reignited discussions on how lesser-known or independent artists are treated in the industry.

Heo Kyunghwan’s confession came during a segment of RUN JIN’s latest episode, which featured BTOB’s Seo Eunkwang as another guest. The episode, themed Variety Show Extravaganza, introduced a comedic survival concept with games like Tray Karaoke and X-Man Deduction, where guests had to identify an undercover player among them. Jin, as always, entertained fans with his wit and vocal talent.

Despite such incidents, Jin continues to shine in his solo career. Recently, he released Close to You, an OST for the Kdrama When the Stars Gossip, starring Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin. Additionally, his much-awaited solo album, Happy, dropped on November 15, 2024, featuring six tracks: Running Wild, I'll Be There, Another Level, Until It Reaches You, Heart on the Window, and In Yearning/Longing.

Having debuted with BTS in 2013 alongside RM, Jhope, Suga, V, Jungkook and Jimin, Jin remains a beloved figure in the Kpop world. Following his military discharge in June 2024, fans eagerly anticipate his future projects. With Jhope also back from service and the remaining BTS members set to return in 2025, excitement is building for the group’s next chapter.
