BTS Jin recently expressed heartfelt gratitude to RM for his leadership and unwavering support during their journey as a group. In a candid interview with Spotify’s Idol Diaries, Jin opened up about the challenges he faced while promoting his debut solo album, HAPPY, and how it gave him a deeper appreciation for RM’s role as the group’s leader.
Jin shared, “I really felt the importance of our leader. Now I see how hard it must have been for our leader all these years. RM, thank you.” This acknowledgement came as Jin reflected on the logistical and emotional demands of solo album promotions, which gave him a new perspective on RM’s years of dedication to BTS.
Released on November 15, 2024, HAPPY marked Jin’s first solo endeavour, allowing him to explore his personal musical identity. Among the album's highlights, Jin described writing the lyrics for the pre-release track I’ll Be There as one of his happiest memories. “I wrote it a few days after being discharged from the military. It was a happy moment to be able to work all night long for the first time since being away,” he recalled.

Jin also revealed that HAPPY was his opportunity to showcase a genre of music he had long desired to pursue. “I haven’t been able to show fans the genre of music I want to pursue until now, and I think I was able to do that with this album,” he said, adding that the song “Falling” was the most personal track, as it best reflected his personality.
In addition to discussing his music, Jin shared his pre-show ritual, which involves holding his breath for 30-40 seconds to expand his lung capacity. He also mentioned his favourite songs to perform live—I’ll Be There and Super Tuna—and revealed that gummy worms are his go-to tour snack, which he enjoyed daily during his promotions.
Meanwhile, RM, who is currently completing his military service, took to Instagram on January 23, 2025, to share a lighthearted moment with his military friends. In the photos, RM and his companions were seen vibing to BTS’ 2017 hit song MIC Drop in a karaoke room (noraebang). The clip featured a BTS music video playing in the background and RM captioned the post, Chill Guys.
