BTS member Jungkook might not be able to appear at Suga’s military enlistment process scheduled on September 22. Jungkook might be in New York, after BigHit Music confirmed that Suga will be enlisting for his compulsory military training. The agency also mentioned that there will be no sending off ceremony for Suga, while the BTS ARMY is preparing for a possible OT7 reunion. The OT7 reunited when Jin and J-Hope had enlisted for their military training. Therefore, fans were hoping for a third reunion. However, with two of the members already off to their camps, now Jungkook also will not be able to mark his presence because of his busy overseas schedule.
Jungkook is set to perform at the Global Citizen event in New York. The singer will perform on September 23. Earlier the Global Citizen Festival 2023 also confirmed the same on their website. The announcement read, “At the 2023 Global Citizen Festival, Jung Kook will perform solo on the Great Lawn of Central Park! He’s joining Global Citizen to call for action to help end extreme poverty.” Jungkook will be the first South Korean solo artist to perform at the festival.

Other prominent singers performing at the event include Brazilian singer-songwriter Anitta, American rapper-singer Lauryn Hill, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Megan Thee Stallion, Conan Gray, Stray Kids, D-Nice and Sofia Carson. Thus, given the dates and the events set a day apart, Jungkook is likely to miss Suga’s military enlistment.
On Sunday, BigHit announced the enlistment of Suga in a statement which read, “SUGA will be beginning his required service on September 22. There will not be any official events taking place on the day he starts his service or on the day he enters the training camp. We kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting SUGA at his workplace during the period of his service. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts only."
It further wrote, “Furthermore, please be mindful to avoid getting adversely affected by unauthorized tours or package products that illegally use the artist’s intellectual property. Our company will take appropriate measures against attempts at any commercial activity that make unauthorized use of artist IP. We ask for your continued love and support for SUGA until he completes his service and returns. Our company will also strive to provide all the support he needs during this time.”
