BTS has been revealed as the authors of a mystery book that had intrigued the internet. The book, titled Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS, will be released on July 9, putting an end to the speculation that it was a memoir by Taylor Swift.

The book was previously untitled and known only as "4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023". The guessing game began earlier this week and the book quickly became a bestseller as fans of Taylor Swift speculated that it was her surprise memoir.

Myeongseok Kang, a journalist, collaborated with all seven members of BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook) to create Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS, which will be presented as an oral history of their journey. Anton Hur, Clare Richards, and Slin Jung worked together to translate the book into English.

US booksellers started to talk about an untitled book with a large initial print run of one million copies that was scheduled for release on July 9. They were also required to sign an affidavit to stock the book on the day of publication, which sparked rumours. A sales official from Flatiron emailed the sellers that the book would have "global appeal" and "massive publicity."

The limited information about the book led to speculation by fans of Taylor Swift and BTS. The author and subject of the book were originally scheduled to be disclosed on June 13, which is Swift's favourite number, but it is also the 10th anniversary of BTS' first single, No More Dream.

The total page count of the book, which is 544, adds up to 13, and this number is significant to Taylor Swift, whose favourite number is also 13. The book is scheduled for release on July 9, two days after Swift's album Speak Now (Taylor's Version), but it is also the 10-year anniversary of Army Day, which celebrates the founding of BTS's fanbase, Army. Army stands for "Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth".

The book generated a lot of buzz earlier this week, leading to a surge in pre-orders on Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites, as fans of both Taylor Swift and BTS eagerly anticipated its release.
