BTS V, also known as Kim Taehyung, has always shared a special bond with his beloved Pomeranian, Yeontan, affectionately called Tannie by ARMYs. On December 2, 2024, V revealed the heartbreaking news of Yeontan’s passing through a heartfelt note on Instagram, leaving fans mourning the loss of a cherished furry member of the BTS family.

Yeontan's story began in December 2017 when V introduced him to the world during Jin’s birthday broadcast. The tiny black-and-tan Pomeranian instantly captured the hearts of ARMYs worldwide. From playful snuggles to joyful moments, Yeontan was a regular feature in V's social media posts, becoming an integral part of his life and artistic journey.

However, behind Yeontan’s adorable demeanour lay significant health challenges. V had known about Tannie’s heart condition even before adopting him. Despite the risks, he dedicated himself to giving Yeontan the best possible life. V once revealed in a candid interview that Yeontan underwent two heart surgeries, both of which were unsuccessful. Still, the little fighter persisted, exuding love and resilience.

Yeontan was more than a pet; he was a muse to V. Tannie inspired several artistic moments, including visuals for V's debut solo album, Layover. During the filming of the music video for Rainy Days in Madrid, V had to use a stand-in for Yeontan, as his health prevented him from travelling.

Despite his struggles, Yeontan's presence brought immense joy to V and ARMYs alike. In an episode of Are You Sure, Jimin remarked, "Tan loves his dad so much, doesn’t he? Even when I hold him, he only looks at V.” These moments highlighted the deep connection between V and his furry companion.

In his Instagram post announcing Yeontan’s passing, V wrote, "Time flies, and it’s already December. Recently, Yeontan has embarked on a long journey to the dog stars. I thought a lot about how to tell you this but felt it was right to share this news with ARMY, who have shown so much love for Yeontan."

V added, "I hope you remember Yeontan and wish for his happiness even in the stars. I wish he could tell me whenever he felt sick or unwell. Tan has a bad heart and had surgery twice. Both times were unsuccessful. I was grateful he fought for his life. I hope our pet friends are always happy and healthy."

Following the news, fans flooded social media with messages of love and condolences. One fan shared, "Tae did his best for Tannie. He studied about dogs for six months before adopting him, knowing his health issues. Rest in peace, Yeontan, our angel."

Another wrote, "Yeontan persevered because of the love V showered on him. We will miss you so much, Tannie. You’ll always be in our hearts."
