BTS V aka Kim Taehyung recently shared heartbreaking news with ARMYs worldwide: his beloved Pomeranian, Yeontan, has passed away. Known affectionately as Tannie, Yeontan had become an integral part of V’s life and a cherished presence for fans. On December 2, V took to his Instagram Stories to announce Yeontan’s passing. He expressed his deep emotions and gratitude to fans who had shown love and affection for his beloved pet. Here’s the complete message he shared as per Soompi:

"Hello ARMY, are you having a warm end of the year? I’m glad the weather isn’t too cold yet!
It feels like it’s been a while since I greeted ARMY with music.

I have fond memories of preparing the duet with my beloved Hyo Shin Hyung, and also the carol by Bing Crosby, whom I deeply respect, which will be released soon. Time flies, and it’s already December.

Actually, the reason I’m writing this post today is that recently, Yeontan has embarked on a long journey to the dog stars. I thought a lot about how to tell you this, but I felt it was right to share this news with ARMY, who have shown so much love for Yeontan.

I would be grateful if you could remember Yeontan and wish for his happiness even in the stars.
I hope you have a warm end of the year where you can tell your loved ones that you love them once more.

I wish ARMY to always be healthy until the day we meet again!

I love you. Thank you."

Along with his heartfelt message, V shared two old videos and an Instagram post with several old photos of himself playing with Yeontan, showcasing their bond. Yeontan, introduced to fans during Jin's birthday live on December 4, 2017, quickly became a beloved figure in the BTS community. Fans often saw him in V’s livestreams and pictures, and many felt a connection with him over the years.

Yeontan lived with V’s parents for a time due to V’s busy schedule but returned to stay with him in his Seoul apartment in 2023. Fans fondly recall Yeontan’s close bond not only with V but also with other BTS members and Jungkook's dog Bam. Following the announcement, ARMYs took to social media platforms to express their condolences and share memories of Yeontan. Many thanked him for bringing comfort to V during difficult times and celebrated the joy he brought to countless fans.

In 2023, V released his debut solo album, Layover. The album cover had Yeontan's pic depicting V's love for his pet dog. Yeontan’s passing has left a void in the hearts of many, but his memories will continue to live on.
