BTS member V is currently on a hiatus to move forward with his mandatory military service. Despite his absence from the limelight, he curated projects for his fans before joining the military. He is all set to collaborate with Kpop star IU for her single 'Love Wins' and fans couldn't be more excited. Amid the excitement for the release of the song, 'Love Wins' got involved in a controversy. The song has been receiving criticism from sexual minorities over its title as LGBTQIA individuals shared their concerns over the use of 'Love Wins'.
Some netizens expressed that the phrase 'Love Wins' is a pride parade slogan and the song might reduce the meaning behind the phrase by showing heterosexual relationships.

'Love Wins' will release on January 24 at 6 PM KST. This marks the first collaboration between IU and V.
On the work front, V released the song ''Wherever U R' on December 30, 2023, and teamed up with American singer and songwriter UMI. The song started trending on the music charts worldwide including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada immediately after its release. While talking about the song, UMI earlier said, "It's a song that a loved one sends to everyone in various times and places. It serves as a reminder that love is a frequency that can be felt regardless of distance."
Ahead of his military enlistment, V penned a heartfelt note for his fans and expressed his love and admiration for his fans. He wrote on Weverse, "I think I'm going to miss you so much. To be honest, it's a real shame that I can't have any more happy memories with ARMYs for some time, if it wasn't for that one thing it would be okay, but not being able to see ARMYs is the hardest. For a long time that is 18 months, I will become really healthy and come back so ARMYs, please take care of your health too. and if day by day you find things to be happy about, I'll appear once again like 'tada! I'm here!'. and also I have prepared various things for during those 18 months so please look forward to it."

V earlier released his solo album 'Layover' which has six songs: 'For You', 'Blue', 'Slow Dancing', 'Rainy Days', 'Love Me Again' and 'Slow Dancing (Piano Version).
